I am so lucky I get to call photography my job! I'm creative and I get to play with families, high school seniors and children to feature YOU in my art! I thought I'd share with you some of the questions I get asked regarding the photography services I offer and what makes my business a boutique business.
1. Where are you based and do you travel?
I am based in Visalia, CA and I have a studio here and YES, I love to travel! I have done sessions at Pismo Beach, San Simeon, Shaver Lake, Huntington Lake, Millerton Lake and Friant, Nipomo, Sequoia National Forest and Los Angeles area. I know I'm fogetting a couple of places. If you have a destination in mind, let's do it!
2. How do I know what to expect before, during and after my session?
We will schedule a pre-session consultation to go over what your dreams are for this session and what products your are wanting. This is included in your session investment. We will discuss location, time of day, what to wear. I'll also take that opportunity to get to know you and your style. I'm with you every step of the way of the process offering guidance and suggestions. I can also do in-home consultations to help with what and where to hang your art. When the day of the session comes all you will have to do is show up! I will have a plan and ideas all ready for you.
3. How long is the actual photo sesssion?
My sessions are custom for your needs. I don't have a set time limit. Typically they run from 45-90 minutes. We keep playing until we both feel like we have what we need. Sometimes I get carried away and repeat the phrase, "OK, just one more!" That happens when the session is super fun and I don't want to stop but I am perceptive as well so if it's over for you I'll be done, too.
4. How will I view my photos?
My preferred method of sharing your images is back at the studio with physical print proofs. I'm a visual person and I like looking at the photos and moving them into piles and comparing side-by-side. Physical proofs also give you a sense for how they will look when printed large. This viewing and ordering session is also included in your investment. There is no rush or pressure. My goal is to make sure you get exactly what you wanted when you hired me. I have sample frames, canvases, books and albums here at my studio for you to look at, pick up and feel.
5. Speaking of products, what do you offer in your boutique business?
I'm all about creating art that features you so I offer large wall art consisting of custom framed, archival pieces, canvas prints and metal prints (which are very popular in a modernly designed homes) I also design hard cover, custom books and albums with all the favorite images of your session. Every image you choose to have printed also comes to you as a digital file for you to use on social media. Oh, and I offer Quantum Cards.
6. What is a Quantum Card?
A Quantum Card is a a plastic card the size of a credit card. Your image is printed on the front of the card and my information is on the back. When you tap that card to a smart phone it will automatically pull up a link to your gallery for you to share with friends and family. There is also a link to my contact information and website in case you need to contact me. It's pretty cool and slick! My high school seniors love these for sharing their senior gallery with their friends. Social media sized images can be downloaded from the Quantum Card as well.
7. Can I get the digital files?
I get this all the time and I totally get it! The answer is yes! You will recieve a digital copy of any print you purchase that way you can share. If you are anything like me you have thousands of digital images living on your computer, your phone and maybe a CD or USB drive thrown in a drawer. You put in a great deal of time, energy and perhaps money preparing for your session. This is a big deal! You deserve professionally printed products. What my clients have found is that they come to me for images of their family or children because of the quality of my work. I am trained in color correction and manipulating exposure for the output device. When a nonprofessional grade lab is used to print like Walgreens or Costco the images often disappoint and don't represent the quality you sought. When you let me handle the printing I guarantee that everything that leaves my studio is perfect.
What I want for you is for you to get exactly what you want to display in your home. There really is no better subject for art than you and yours!
