My daughter started college in the fall at California State University Montery Bay. I've adjusted pretty well considering we are super close and she's my only kid. I have, however, been travelling to the Monterey Peninsula on a regular basis. (I mean, why not?! It's magnificent there!)
One of my favorite swim lesson kiddos and her family recently moved from Visalia to Carmel. On one of my trips to the area, I brought my camera and we played on the Carmel Beach around sunset. It was love at first snap for me! This is when I got the wild idea to pack the camera equipment on each trip over so I could begin offering portrait sessions.
There are so many beautiful settings to take photos in the area! Obviously, the ocean is a primo backdrop any time of day. The coastline has a variety of scenes. Some spots are white and sandy, providing a clean, minimal feel while others are rocky with waves crashing, making huge sprays! The tide pools are very interesting and photograph very nicely, also.
There are dramatic, wooded areas in Pacific Grove that are so interesting and moody. I envision a session featuring a girl wearing a long, flowing dress, walking through the trees with the sunlight touching the top of her hair giving her a golden halo.
Of course, there are excellent places along 17 Mile Drive! Spanish Bay, Point joe, China Rock, Fanshell Overlook, and The Ghost Tree are just a few of the priceless photo backdrops!
I'm so excited to begin offering Fine Art Portrait Sessions on the Monterey Peninsula and the surrounding areas! I can't wait to share the photo treasures I capture!
