So, I haven't been photographing weddings for the past few years. I find the older I get, the harder it is to keep up with the happenings of the day. When my friend, Karen, asked if I would do her wedding there was no thinking twice!
The day was a warm September day and it was also perfect! I swooned over the oranges, pinks and blues of the flowers. The center pieces were little cakes for the table to share adorned with flowers. The venue was a western barn and property that was super cute. And the bride and groom were at ease which made my job very easy.
It was a small, intimate affair and the feel of the event was pure joy. There was the cutest whiskey bar as well as barrel bar tables to set your drink. After the ceremony and the traditional cake-cutting and toast, the dancing started as the sun went down. For a brief time it felt as though we were in an enchanted garden witnessing two people declare their love and commitment to each other and celebrating with dear friends and family.
Hmmm, maybe I should do a few weddings here and there. It made me happy!
