A Day In The Life Of The Lingenfelter Family
I have been super eager to shoot an in-home family session where the photos document how life looks at home with little ones. Of course the directed, group photos that I have of my family growing up are special and are great milestone reminders, but the ones where we are living life, interacting with each other, in our element are my favorite ones to linger over. Remembering the kitchen where we begged for snacks and snuck chocolate chips from the pantry...where we sat and ate our "samiches" that mom made for lunch...where we helped make cookies or cake and ALWAYS raced to lick the beaters and spoons...so many tender memories, that, at the time were just everyday life, nothing seemingly special.
I want to provide a photographic portal to these times with your families. My vision is to design a book or album with these images for you to put on your coffee table, in your bookcase, or share with family. A graphic "day in the life" record to revisit, remember, and share your stories.
Kelly and her husband, Michael, have a 5-year-old and an infant and you can just imagine all the fun stuff going on at their house! They also happen to be getting ready to move out for an extended period of time while the house is updated and remodeled. As her boys grow up they may not remember what the house they lived in looked like and felt like before the remodel but they will have these images and Kelly and Michael will have the stories to go with them. After doing this session for them I went home and dug out a box of old photos that have been passed down from my grandparents and parents and I took a little trip down memory lane. Priceless!
I am booking sessions just like this for all seasons. We shot for about 2 hours and it was undirected for the most part and I was just an observer. It was easy and zero stress. No fancy outfits, no cheesy, forced smiles, just the chance to have real life documented. I let the family lead me to areas they wanted to make sure to capture and on occasion I asked for them to look at me but, honestly, it was very self-directed and natural. Let's schedule a consultation to see if you would be interested in a session like this.
Check out some of the images from their session below.
